Sale of gems – Canada-Ontario?

I have some loose gemstones (precious and semi-precious stones – diamonds not) that I want to liquidate, but I'm not sure what to do. I live in Ontario Midwest, but travel as far as Toronto and Region Durham to a jeweler quite willing to buy stones. My question is – Where do I go? Who do I call? Should I have to appreciate them before carrying them everywhere? I do not use eBay or other online vendor, I prefer to take the jewels to someone in person. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Well, if you try to sell your stone to a jeweler, please be aware, many jewelers are not familiar with colored stones as it, or can know what it is, but are not willing to pay what it's worth. I would make a detailed list of what you have at least the : Type Gemstone Carat Weight original form (if possible) Dimensions (mm size) as the description of color. Be specific … not saying green … but is it a dark green, light green, green blueis, etc. … Hope that helps
