What size diamond earrings should I get my wife?

First of all, they will be everyday wear earrings. Most days, my wife is dressed casually. I am choosing between 1/2 carat TDW or 1 carat TDW. They will be high quality diamonds and probably a round cut. Set in white gold, because a friend told me that makes them sparkle more. Thanks!

I would choose quality over size, though. Go look at the diamonds and make sure they have a high clarity rank as well as the color. I would rather have a flawless 1/2 carat than a 1 carat with imperfections on it.

You’re saying TDW which makes me think these are not solitaire earrings — but clusters? (a lot of small diamonds together) – - if that is the case then I would definitely choose the 1/2 carat. Not as big and can wear every day.
